The Sunshine Civil Libertarian.

In my now forty years I have honestly never met a person left, right or in-between who did not claim to be a staunch defender of Civil Liberties.  With that said I have also never met a person who is honestly a true defender of Civil Liberties.  To those who are currently gasping in outrage please continue reading and you may understand my point… maybe, but probably not.  For those easily offended be warned, there is incredibly foul and offensive language in this blog posting… oddly enough something protected as free speech.  Printing foul language is something rare for me I know but you will understand why. Starve the military! Feed the hungry!

Every so often a person is confronted with the type of naïve bleeding heart idiocy that you are only left shaking your head and wondering how it is a person who considers themselves to be rational can come up with such an argument.  This was a recent experience in my life.  To start off I’m ex-military, my son is in the Army, my father is a vet as is my grandfather multiple aunts and uncles.  Several cousins are active duty or ex-military so I am not completely unbiased in my opinion.  Oh and I function using something I like to call facts and logic so that also impacts my views on such silliness.

545491_10151044314572150_1786870694_n[1]This is an example of the type of inane arguments that we, as conservatives, must face on a daily basis.  The text is simple but the meaning is not.  “The money required to eradicate hunger for everyone in the world has been estimated at 30 billion dollars a year…about as much as the world spends on the military every eight days” with the image of a US Air Force B2 Spirit Bomber dropping bombs on a starving child.  The inclusion of an American bomber wipes out the word World and leaves the impression America in it’s place.  This is, of course, intentional since in the minds of globalist liberals we are the cause of the worlds problems.  Somehow the fact that we are successful causes many other parts of the world to be unsuccessful.  A significant leap in logic which assumes that there is a set level of global wealth and that in order for us to be a wealthy nation other nations must be poor.  Absolutely insane if you take a moment to think about it, but again that is what we have to deal with. No charges

According to a recent article on FoxNews.com there will be no charges filed against the father of the child who posted a photograph of his son holding a rifle.  Um… good!  The father committed no crime, the child committed no crime and if there were any crimes committed they were on the part of the person making the false report and the authorities who treated this family like criminals for doing absolutely nothing wrong. What is left or right?

The debate over what it means to be left or right has been made about as convoluted an argument as there is but it is actually quite simple and can be boiled down to a couple significant differences.  Left means collectivism and a strong central government while Right means individualism and a weak central government.  Straight forward, simple and to the point.  All issues can be approached from those two basic sets of beliefs.  The left believes in numerous strong gun regulations because they put their faith in the State the Right believes in the 2nd Amendment because they put theirs in the individual.  The left supports things like the Department of Education because they believe a central government can run things better than the local level while those on the right believe the complete opposite.  This is why partisanship is a good thing and bi-partisanship is a terrible idea on many issues.

Food on fire!

I, being a Conservative, am told on a regular basis by Progressives, Liberals and etc that I am a racist, I hate starving people, I want the air dirty, the water poisoned and etc.  So let us take a moment to compare and contrast two issues which are important to the left, these are Hunger and the Environment.  We could go into a hundred different examples but I will stick to just two, providing food for the hungry and reducing our dependency on oil through renewable biofuel.

According to the 2012 World Hunger and Poverty Facts and Statistics there were 925 million people who went hungry in 2010, which is the most recent year the statistics exist.  Don’t dig too deeply into their numbers because you will find they made a lot of assumptions which could not be measured.  In otherwords they did a little guessing. Propaganda and desecration

Well it looks like there is another flag bearing the image of Obama and this time it is on display in a school.

For starters the U.S. flag code states the flag must never bear any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. So what the Obama Campaign has done with these flags is, well, illegal.   Continue reading

The TEA Party is Dead Long Live the TEA Party!

Well according to such sources as The Daily Beast, The Huffington Post and even townhall.com we don’t exist anymore.  The problem is not one of reality but of perception and methodology.  The perception is that we are not out on the streets protesting and the methodology of typical politically motivated groups is to do exactly that.  So are we dead?

The flat infanticide movement.

It never fails to amaze me how the political left is able to spin any issue to mean something completely opposite of the truth while continuing to claim themselves as being tolerant, caring, and etc.  Take abortion and global warming as a good example of how this works.  If you look at historical climate records and see a tend in which the global temperatures increase and decrease in a cyclical manner you are a flat Earther and anti-science.  On the other hand if you look at an image of the face of an unborn child and see a baby you are called a religious extremist, anti-woman and again anti-science.

Lets address these two issues one at a time beginning with Abortion.  I recently posted a series of images and simply asked people to tell me what they see.  The first image was a 3D ultrasound that I found on a pro-life Facebook page.

The answers included “a clump of cells, a baby, a fetus, a miracle and other similar responses”.  The different answers also matched the points of view of the posters, those who saw a baby were pro-life and those who were unable to see a baby but something else were pro-abortion.

SPLC, the new Thought Police.

We live in a very dangerous time when everything that we know and believe has been turned on it’s ear, up is down, left is right and good is evil.  The First Amendment is only valid for people who agree with the self-proclaimed First Amendment police.  Innocent until proven guilty only applies to those who support a particular ideology.  The Free Press is free to support the political agenda of the Washington Elite.  Patriotism is Jingoism and hating America is patriotic.

How did we, as a nation reach the point that an organization as twisted by political ideology as the Southern Poverty Law Center has become the arbiter of all things right and wrong? Our media uses this group as the source for anything “Hate” related.  Taking a moment to browse their list of Hate Groups will shock you.  Any group which is for traditional values, traditional marriage, against amnesty for illegal aliens and etc. is labeled a hate group by these people while groups like Black-bloc seem to be conspicuously missing.  Basically to be a Hate Group you must first oppose liberal policies.   Continue reading
